Digitalization of the world

In this world, everything is getting digitalized. All the oldfashioned ways of getting information are sowly disappearing. Think of the newspapers and the tvguide. These information providers are also online available and not only on paper. With all the mobile phones with access to internet, these paper versions of the newspaper and the tvguide have become unnecessary. And with the financial crisis, people feel that they don't need all these information providers anymore at their homes. They just look it up on the internet if they want to know something. That's fine, of course, but it is also a pity. In the past, people woke up and were reading the newspaper over a cup of coffee while trying to wake up. When the newspaper isn't there anymore in paper version this isn't possible. I always enjoy it when I can sit and read the tvguide, seeing what's on television, and I think there are still people out there that like it too. Sure, people who set value on this habit will maintain this as long as they can. So maybe there is nothing wrong with this digitalization, but still I think it is too much sometimes. As long as the paper versions are still available, then it is alright by me.

Ringtones and wallpapers

The last couple of years, ringtones and wallpapers have become more and more popular. On television you see a lot of commercials where ringtones and wallpapers are promoted. They make it sound very easy: just text this and this to that number and you will have the coolest ringtone or wallpaper on your mobile phone. Unfortunately, they don't make it very clear that you are actually buying a subscription. This means that you will receive several ringtones or wallpapers a week that costs a couple of euro. So, the free ringtone or wallpaper you wanted appears to become a really expensive one. When you see a commercial for a ringtone or wallpaper there are small characters at the bottom of your screen. However, these characters are so small that you can't read them. In this text it is said that you are actually buying a subscription, but this cannot be read so most people don't have this knowledge. These ringtone and wallpaper services are actually working legally, but I think it is deception. The commercials are really annoying me and I think they should be banned from the television!
